Preparing Your Venue For 2021
As we are heading towards the end of 2020, it’s still unsure how Covid-19 is going to continue to affect the 1.8 million people in the hospitality industry. All we know is that we have to do what we can to keep businesses afloat whilst keeping our staff and customers as safe as we can. With the ever-changing guidelines, you need to be sure that your business can follow them correctly.
As we’re unsure how the rules will change in the next couple of weeks or months, here are a few things you can think about doing for your venue to prepare your venue and increase your profits, all whilst staying safe.
Revamping your space
As we’re not sure how long social distancing measures will continue, you need to be prepared to revamp your venue for 2021. To carry on making a profit, changes will need to be made to fit in line with government guidelines. One way to do this is to restructure the interior and exterior of your venue. You may have had a large dance floor with a few tables around the outside, but that won’t be an efficient use of space anymore. By adding more tables, and making sure they’re a safe distance apart, you can increase the customers that are able to visit your venue, and in turn, increase your profit.
If you own a venue that already has lots of tables, make sure they are the correct distance apart, protecting your customers. If you would like to maximise capacity, try a different layout of your tables or switch out tables for benches which will increase space.
Why not use your outdoor beer garden to your advantage? Instead of just having a couple of picnic tables, invest in some great outdoor furniture so more people can enjoy your venue. The cold weather could be a disadvantage for most people but you can make your outdoor area more welcoming. Think about getting some electric outdoor heaters to keep your guests comfortable through the colder nights.
Introduce new routines
Your venue should already have a clear cleaning routine in place to combat Covid-19. Regular cleaning of tables and surfaces needs to be done along with keeping your games machines clean. Assign a member of staff to be on the lookout for any customers finishing at a table or finishing their game of pool, so they can be cleaned before the next customer to avoid contamination.
You can still plan events in your venue but the way to go about them needs to be changed. Instead of just allowing anyone to come to the event, introduce a ticket system, so you can keep track of how many customers you have, to make sure you don’t go over your allowed capacity. This also means that customers won’t show up when the event is full and be disappointed if they’re turned away. Events like quiz nights and games nights are a great way to build excitement around your venue and bring in more customers.
Create engaging marketing
One important aspect of keeping your customers rolling in is to keep them engaged. You need to get them excited about events coming up in your venue and keep them coming back for more. It’s all well and good to plan a fantastic event, but what is no-one hears about it? There are two simple ways to ensure that customers will be the first to know.
One way to keep everyone in the loop is email marketing. When customers come to your restaurant or bar, you can leave a form on their tables with a small questionnaire about service and safety, including space where they can add their email address to be kept up to date about the upcoming events. Not only will this help you discover what you can do better in your venue, but you will also compile a list of email addresses from customers who want to hear about the latest events and offers.
One of the most significant ways to get your customers excited about your venue is social media. Using social media, you can engage with your customers and find out what kind of things they want to see. Engage your audience by asking questions, creating polls and having conversations. Keep them excited about your venue and events coming up by introducing competitions or giveaways to win drinks or free pool for a night. Marketing is essential to keep a steady stream of customers coming through the doors.
Add exciting entertainment
Entertainment is also an exciting part of any venue. You want your venues to be as comfortable and normal as possible whilst keeping customers safe and happy. Why not get your customers engaged and happy by letting them choose the music for the night? Our digital jukeboxes have thousands of songs on their digital database. Music is a great way to boost the atmosphere within your venue and it increases the time that customers will stay and spend money if their favourite songs are playing.
Another way to introduce exciting entertainment and stay safe is to hire one of our innovative contactless pool tables. This way, your customers can enjoy a classic game of pool and be able to stay safe in the meantime. Keeping your customers entertained during the night will make them stay longer and buy more drinks whilst also guaranteeing that they will be back again.
